Casting Pearls Before the Swine

I know I've ranted and raved about people who kept bashing the service standards in Singapore. Heck, somebody just said I am rude today, but how am I suppose to keep my cool when I am fighting a cold on top of doing oncall duty after office hours, and this idiot took a queue number from my counter and asked me if she should turn the corner and pick up her medicine from another counter. I am running a pharmacy, not foodcourt.

Anyway, amidst all the hype of having 2 integrated resorts (IRs), a lot of people started questioning if Singapore can maintain international service standards. Whenever the words "service standards" pop up, somebody would inevitably say Singapore's service is poor and not of international standards yada yada and without good service standards how are we suppose to support the 2 IRs etc etc.

Know what? I think the IRs would have personnels who are trained in all aspects to provide services of international standards. However, the bigger problem lies in whether Singaporeans are customers of international standards. Sad to say, I think most Singaporeans behave like boors. When they are not happy with something, they raise their voices, and they threaten. Hardly befitting of a nation that is promoting a graceful society ain't it.
